Product Description A heart stone is one of nature's gifts. Heart stones are not rare or precious in the typical sense--a good scour of a beach with any stones at all will usually turn up one or two heart-shaped stones. But heart stones, lifted from their obscurity, with all of their cracks and blemishes, lopsided and imperfect, are simply the best find on any beach. Beachcombers collect them, keep them as talismans, and give them to friends and lovers.
Josie Iselin, author of Abrams' very popular Beach Stones, has put together a magical collection of 100 heart stones, and each one expresses a universal feeling. Love, passion, admiration, obsession, reassurance, joy, intrigue, comfort, wonder, and many other human emotions seem to be portrayed in these homely but appealing objects. This little book can bring great pleasure to anyone who has ever sought inspiration and solace in nature.

Great table top book March 29, 2010 Laura Madsen (NJ, USA) This is a picture book. There's some text, but it's not going to give you a lot of factual information about stones nor any great story. But the pictures of the stones are really cool. All of the heart shaped stones that appear in this book are of natural appearance and were found in various places around the world.
Great gift for the heart stone collector March 10, 2010 Shop Girl (Arizona) Very unique book for a person who loves to collect heart stones, or hearts of any kind really. Simple layout and nice photographs. I would definitely purchase again for a gift.
nice gift idea February 18, 2010 i <3 books (NY USA) this book is very nice, and was a good gift when combined with an actual heart stone which i had found on the beach a while back. pay attention to the dimensions; the book is small, but cute....not quite coffee table size.
Pretty books; but not field guides or ecosystems books February 7, 2010 Pieter Prall 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
In my opinion these heart stone and beach stone books are pretty books; however they show up listed and ranked as field guides, ecology books and minerology books, which they do not appear to me to be. Such ranking seems to me to be unfair to the talented authors of such other publications. I think perhaps these books should be ranked with books like Johnathan Livingston Seagull - whatever catagory that book falls into.
A Gift For and From the Heart February 16, 2009 Kendra Kett (Chicago, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a sweet, charming book! I have been collecting heart shaped rocks for many years -- it's amazing how many there truly are to find. Perhaps this is nature's way of reminding us that our hearts are always available, near, accessible, and ever present amidst the often overlooked details of our chaotic, busy and overscheduled lives. Thanks for the reminder that love is everywhere!
