 Oversize Calendar Is Great as Family's "Master Calendar" August 1, 2010

The reason that I buy this calendar, year after year, is that the extra-large date boxes provide ample space for recording family medical appointments, upcoming meetings and activities, and other date-related reminders. The Ansel Adams black and white photographs are beautiful, and every year's selection is different.
Each month's calendar page includes a mini-calendar for last month and next month, and indicates holidays, moon phases, and important items like daylight savings time changes. There is also an extra page for January of the upcoming year. This calendar is the same as the one sold in retail bookstores at year's end, but I like to buy it from Amazon as soon as it is offered (my 2011 calendar shipped in late July), so that I can write in next year's appointments (beyond January) as soon as they are scheduled.

I have purchased this calendar every year for more than 10 years. I love the photos from Yosemite National Park the most. In fact, I've traveled to Yosemite from Florida due to the photos I have admired from Ansel Adams over the years (a great trip to one of the most awesome spots in the US). This is very much recommended.

I ordered an Ansel Adams calendar from A1 Books on January 19, 2010. They said they shipped the calendar on January 27, eight days after my order. I contacted them 15 days after shipping as I had not yet received the calendar. They responded that I should give it 30 days, even though their site said deliverys would be made in 10-15 days. After 30 days I still didn't receive the calendar; even though I had received an e-mail from their customer service deptartment asking me to review their service now that the transaction was complete (apparently they thought it was). I contacted them again and, to their credit, they quickly gave me a refund but I never was able to get the calendar I wanted.

The Ansel Adams Calendar is something I purchase every year. The photographs are uniformly beautiful and the quality of the calendar is excellent. One does tend to see some of the same photos from year to year, but they are great pictures.
I would also suggest reading Ansel Adams autobiography. Not only was he a great photographer, but also a musician, environmental activist, and man of conscience.
