This encyclopedic book provides an excellent overview of basic design for artists, graphic designers, illustrators, etc. It covers all of the bases and has great pictures, with works by contemporary artists as well as masters such as Picasso, Caravaggio etc. Also includes a dozen interviews with contemporary artists, who discuss their artwork and talk about their careers. A great introduction and considering the number of color pictures, a very reasonable price.
