More Please July 18, 2010 Jennifer This book is a definite must for JettHeads. I just became a JJ convert after seeing 'The Runaways' and wanting to know more about the group and this amazing woman. I was immersed in corporate life the first time around (too tame for JJ) and except for 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll', didn't know much about the rest of her music. She's now about 20% of my iPod.
The book is pretty much a summary of her life thus far in photos and interviews, although I'm sure there is a lot more to tell. After all, her career has spanned over 35 years now. For some reason, I never tire of seeing photos of Joan (but then I guess I'm not alone). Will there be a Volume II?
Packed with black and white photos and insider insights June 17, 2010 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) Joan Jett is a lovely authorized tribute to Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, featuring many new photos, excerpts from some thirty years worth of interviews, and more. From Joan's roots starting the rock band The Runaways to her touring years with her band and her entry into the professional music world by starting her own independent rock label, JOAN JETT is a 'must' for any rock music library, packed with black and white photos and insider insights.

Joan Jett is a rock goddess!!!
Heavy on photographs, could have used more antecdotes from Joan May 30, 2010 E. Anderson Anyone who is familiar with Todd Oldham would know that he is a fashion designer and that his collaboration with Joan Jett on her biography would be heavy on photographs. I knew right from the get go when I saw his name imprinted on the book but it did not stop me from getting a copy. Ever since I saw the film The Runaways (based on Cherie Currie's Neon Angel book), I have been indulging myself in all things Joan Jett and The Runaways, but mostly Joan Jett. While I agree with a lot of reviewers here that there could have been more information from Joan, I still enjoyed reading Joan Jett. I really love seeing photos of Joan as a child and teenager. I also love seeing Joan evolve from a teenager into the adult she is now. She really has come a long way since The Runaways and is showing that she can still rock as hard as she did back in the 1970s.
joan jett takes a beautiful picture... May 23, 2010 Michael Daily (Valley Village, CA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is a very nice book on joan. the biography aspect is a little short, but it is filled with interesting anecdotal details. however, i think most people who would buy this are already quite familiar with the runaways and joan in general. what it misses in biographical depth it more than makes up for with the awesome photos. the beautiful photography is what really holds this book together. if you didn't think joan jett was beautiful before, you will after seeing the photos. highly recommended.
