this is my second field book by Charlotte Lowrie. She does an excellent job of giving you the info that you need to help you use your camera. this is a very in depth writing that everyone that uses a digital camera should have.

This field guide was recommended to me by a few fellow photogs. What a great field guide to help me learn my new 50d! It is well laid out and easy to understand. I NEVER would have picked up on half of the tricks & tools my 50d is capable of without this book! (And yes! I have read the owners manual numerous times). Reading the manual that comes with your camera is important. But getting a copy of this field guide will help you sharpen your skills. This Guide in combination with Understanding Exposure will help you build a GREAT base knowledge of your camera and photography in general! Get it! NOW!

While this book on the Canon 50D digital SLR camera has some very good and usable insights for use of the 50D, it mostly just covers the standard operating features already covered in the Owners Manual, although it does so in greater detail.
